Pierre Marie Brisson

Born June 1955 in Orléans, France.
Pierre Marie Brisson is a French painter whose work adapts the forms, concepts and images of art history. He ranges from prehistoric art to rococo and modernism and blurs his writing and references. Brisson describes his work as representative of the space left behind, “What is central to my works is a person’s form, or what’s left of that kind – because it can become something else.” Studied with the French painter Bernard Saby before moving to Paris in 1979. In Paris, he studied etching at Pasnic Workshop. Over the years, his work has been exhibited internationally, including the Musée Faure in Aix-les-Bains and the Franklin Bowles Gallery in New York. The artist currently lives and works in Paris, France.
